Our winemaker, Aimée Sunseri, is a fifth generation Nichelini, and is the winery’s seventh family winemaker, starting with her great-great-grandfather Anton Nichelini in 1890. Aimée oversees the entire grape growing and winemaking process from bud break to bottle.
Aimée received her education at the University of California, Davis in Viticulture and Enology. She became head winemaker in 2009. Her formal training and family mentorship molded her passion for her life’s work.
In her words, “Our family has a great American story. Growing up I was always proud that there was a winery built by my great-great-grandparents that was still being operated by family. Not everyone still has that connection to a place. My job is to make outstanding legacy wines that I hope you will share with your family while continuing to follow your own American dream.”
